Just a little over a year ago, Chicago-based Big Onion Tavern Group purchased a two-story office building located at 1903 Division Street near the corner of Division and 19th Avenue South. Plans were quickly announced that Hopsmith Tavern, a multi-level neighborhood restaurant and bar with a location already in Chicago, would be occupying the property. And then the building sat, and sat. And then to the surprise of many, the building was gone, demolished. And then there was nothing.
But now there is finally movement on the project, as construction of the new building is in full swing with the aim of opening up later this fall. And while there are few details regarding specifics of this location, the Hopsmith Tavern Nashville website does include a number of interior and exterior renderings from Chicago firm D+K Architects.
The interior appears to have a number of themed bars, with motifs including a car road trip, pop culture and a man cave of sorts. The exterior features two outdoor patios on the first and second floor down the left side of the building. So take a look, and be sure to check back for more updates as things progress.
