UPDATED (9/14/17): After being closed for the past eight months, Woodlands Indian Vegetarian Cuisine reopened for business this past Tuesday. A representative at the restaurant tells Eater that they are currently only serving the buffet for lunch and dinner, but will begin adding back a la carte dishes soon.
UPDATED (8/29/17): After first reporting its demise late last month, the Nashville Scene today now says that Woodlands Indian Vegetarian Cuisine will be reopening at its same West End Ave. location sometime within the next week. There is also now a street sign stating the same. Be sure to check back for updates.
(7/28/17): The fate of one of Nashville’s best and most popular Indian restaurants is now confirmed, as Woodlands Indian Vegetarian Cuisine has permanently closed its doors.
Located at 3415 West End Ave. in the ground floor of The Continental condo building, the nearly 15-year-old restaurant closed earlier this year due to building construction, with the promise of reopening in the near future. But according to the Nashville Scene, ‘employees at the building told potential customers [last week] that the restaurant would not be reopening there.’
However, the Scene notes that former Woodlands’ chef Madhusoodhan Naik plans to open a new restaurant, Mysore Palace Indian Vegetarian Cuisine, next Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 9040 Carothers Parkway in the former home of Bombay Bistro (which the Williamson Source reports is now looking for a new home in Nashville). Take a look at the full menu here.
According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, with the restaurant closed on Monday.
