It’s getting closer and closer to the opening of Hugh-Baby’s BBQ and Burger Shop, as pitmaster Pat Martin is aiming to welcome his first customers by the end of August. Located at 4816 Charlotte Ave., it will be the debut of Martin’s fast food concept here in Nashville, with two outposts having previously opened on West Virginia University’s campus, where Martin says they have been working to get their processes in order. And Eater has the first look at the full opening menu.
The menu reads as a greatest hits of the fast food world, offering a variety of burgers, barbecue sandwiches, and hot dogs. Accompanying them are fries, milkshakes, freshly squeezed lemonade, iced tea and the like. The one menu item most won’t be familiar with is the slugburger, a style of burger that Martin grew up eating in Corinth, Miss. Made popular in parts of the South during the Depression, the part meal and flour/part meat burger will be a special available only on Fridays. And the overall price point? It looks to be in the sweet spot, with no item priced over $6.29.
And as always, Martin promises an emphasis on quality, telling Eater previously that “everything will be made from scratch, including grinding the burgers five times a day in-house.”
So take a look at the full menu, and be sure to check back for more opening updates.
