UPDATE: Daniel Herget Is Leaving Little Octopus Next Month, Headed to Noelle

Current Pinewood Social chef Andrew Rodriguez will take the helm

UPDATED (8/25/17): Representatives for Noelle, a new 224-room hotel opening downtown later this year, tell Eater that Herget is coming on as executive chef for the hotel’s restaurant, Makeready Libations and Liberation. Herget gave the following comment, via email, regarding the move: “I am so grateful to Sarah and Brad Gavigan and our Little Octopus team for the last three years. With my new role as executive chef at Makeready Libations & Liberation, I am excited to continue to create new and exciting experiences for guests. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the team on previous projects and I feel extremely confident that we are going to bring something special to the table at Noelle. I look forward to continuing to serve the Nashville community.”

Changes are coming in the kitchen at popular Caribbean-leaning Gulch restaurant Little Octopus, as opening executive chef Daniel Herget will be leaving his post early next month.

Herget, who has been at the helm since the restaurant first opened in the former POP Nashville space in the summer of 2015, will be replaced by current Pinewood Social chef Andrew Rodriguez. Rodriguez moved to Music City in early 2015 to take over the executive chef position at Jonathan Waxman’s Adele’s, not too long after making the move to his current post.

A representative for the restaurant tells Eater that “Daniel Herget will be moving on to new endeavors and it’s a very amicable parting of ways. The Gavigans are deeply appreciative of all his hard work and wish him nothing but the best! Little Octopus will remain focused on fresh, clean, and vibrant flavors with a Caribbean flair,” with no menu changes on the horizon.
