Big news out of East Tennessee today, as Blackberry Farm, the James Beard award-winning luxury property located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, will soon welcome Blackberry Mountain, its first new property in 40 years.

According to Town & Country, the new venture will be located on 5,200 acres just miles from Blackberry Farm and, along with lodging, an infinity pool, hiking and biking trails, will also include two new restaurants. The first, called Three Sisters, will be situated in the main lodge and sounds positioned to become another destination restaurant similar to The Barn at Blackberry Farm. The second will be a casual restaurant located in a restored 1940s firetower with panoramic views of the property. Both are expected to open in late 2018.

The Beall family’s Walland, Tenn. resort property has long been known as a culinary destination, with The Barn at Blackberry Farm and its staff earning three James Beard awards between 2013 and 2015, including Best Chef: Southeast (Joseph Lenn, 2013), Outstanding Wine Program (Andy Chabot, 2014) and Outstanding Service (2015). Blackberry Farm Brewery has also become an impressive addition to the beverage program, having won a gold award at the World Beer Cup 2016 and launching its first canned craft beer line this summer.
