Is Former Hillsboro Village Fixture Savarino’s Reopening in Columbia?

It looks as though ‘Mule Town’ is the target

It appears that Savarino’s Cucina, the locally loved Hillsboro Village Italian restaurant that closed its doors back in April, is resurfacing, but not in Nashville.

Earlier today the eatery’s name was updated to Savarino’s Italian Kitchen on its Facebook page. One loyal customer inquired as to whether it was reopening. The response? Yes. But in Columbia, Tenn., about an hour south of town:

The restaurant, known for its roster of sandwiches named after regulars, was owned and operated for 11 years by Corrado and Maria Savarino. But back in March they decided that they were ready for a little R&R, heading into semi-retirement and closing Savarino’s at the end of April. But Corrado’s son Carmelo Savarino left the door open for the restaurant to return, saying that he intended to open his own in the future, with the popular sandwiches remaining on the menu.
