Doughnut lovers now have a new outpost to get their fix of the round confection, as The Donut + Dog officially opened to the public this morning in Hillsboro Village.
Following a pre-opening event yesterday evening, the sweet and savory eatery from husband and wife team Will and Nicole Primavera, newly minted Nashville residents who took over the former Dog of Nashville space at 2127 Belcourt Ave., is currently offering a seven-item menu of brioche doughnuts, which will rotate seasonally. Beverages include small-batch coffee from H.C. Valentine, as well as cold-brew and nitro options.
Starting next week the savory side of the menu will start to roll out, with the main focus being all-beef, bacon-wrapped hot dogs offered with a variety of toppings on a brioche lobster roll-style bun. A few snacks, like chicharonnes with queso will also be available, along with a very small selection of draft brews.
The Donut + Dog is open until 3 p.m. today, with future hours not yet posted. Plans are to ramp up to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with weekend brunch being added closer to springtime. So be sure to check social media for updates on hours and menus.
