The owners of Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria are gearing up for a busy 2018, as they are prepping to further expand not only their Nashville footprint, but also taking the popular concept on the road.
The Nashville Business Journal reports that founders Clinton Gray, Derrick Moore, and Emanuel Reed recently signed a lease for space at a new Wedgewood-Houston development located at 517 Hagan St. across from Dozen Bakery. Additionally, they have plans to take the Slim & Husky’s concept to Atlanta, with Gray telling the NBJ that they have “secured a space in a neighborhood with a similar character to Buchanan Street and which sits close to multiple historically black universities.” Include another outpost slated to open just south of Nashville in Antioch later this year, and that means that the successful pizza joint will be on track for four locations in under two years’ time.
But that’s not all. The trio will also open a new craft cocktail bar later this year called Three Double Jacks. Located at 1022 Jefferson St., previously home to Jefferson Street Sports Bar, the concept’s design and theme will have an emphasis on the history of African American inventors.
