Cafe and Gourmet Market Caviar & Bananas Is Back

Lots of locals hope this time it will stick

After closing suddenly at the end of June 2018, Nashville’s Caviar & Bananas reopens today, under new ownership. Needless to say, it has been a bit of a roller coaster since they first opened in July of 2017. Now open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Eater reached out to see what, if any, changes had been made, but thus far has not received a reply. Hopefully the somewhat-confusing-for-first-time-visitors gourmet cafe and market got a little more user-friendly in the revamp. Leave first impressions of the born-again Caviar & Bananas below.

When the restaurant shuttered suddenly at the end of June 2018, the owners cited lack of sales as the primary reason for the closure. The new owners for the Nashville location (The Eleven Group) craigslist job postings promised a “new and improved” Caviar & Bananas, while questions remain on how parking situations could be improved. Located on the ground level of the Aertson Midtown development at 2031 Broadway, the whole idea is unique for Nashville — offering essential groceries along with high-end food items and a large dine-in/carry-out restaurant component.
