Boombozz is now open — and there’s a playground too

The small chain and Louisville-loved Boombozz Craft Pizza & Taphouse opened a new location in East Nashville at 1003 Russell Street this weekend — and there’s everything from brunch pizzas doused with bloody Mary-spiked ranch to a full-on playground outside.

The third location for the Nashville area (the others are in Murfreesboro and Spring Hill) — it’s the first for Nashville proper. A fourth location is in the works for Bellevue —where they hope to open by the end of 2018. Boombozz’ new East Nashville restaurant boasts one of the largest video walls in town, spanning 16x9 feet, with more than 40 additional televisions throughout the space. The newly renovated, open-space restaurant aims to serve as a game-day hangout for sports enthusiasts, with specials running throughout football season. The East Nashville location features two heated patios and a full-sized playground, making Boombozz a highly-welcomed spot for families in the neighborhood.

The menu, of course, focuses on pizza — with some popular options being the fire-roasted chicken pizza topped with chipotle sauce and Asiago cheese, and another with Portobello mushrooms and a garlic olive oil glaze. Those not into pizza can sample of their many salads, sandwiches, or pasta bakes (or just load up on snacks at the start).

Brunch will be served at Boombozz on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., and the menu shows pizzas topped with traditional breakfast foods, plus even a Kentucky hot brown pie. The “breakfast cobb” pizza is crowned with hard-boiled eggs, bacon, chorizo, tomato, gorgonzola crumbles, then finished with avocado cream and bloody mary-spiked ranch. The rest of the brunch menu shows a healthy dose of waffles (choose from options stuffed with everything from steak to cookie dough), staple build-your-own bloody Marys and mimosas, plus kid-friendly options.

Boombozz first opened in Louisville by Tony Palombino twenty years ago, and now has three locations in Tennessee, plus multiple in Kentucky and Indiana. It’s won a whole slew of awards they’ll be happy to tell you about. Boombozz East Nashville is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 a.m, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
