A Bar Inside a Steamer Trunk Pops Up to Unpack Local Libations

The Bellhop Bar pops open daily for happy hour at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel

Loews Hotel

Nashville gains a new pop-up in The Bellhop Bar by Loews Hotels — a retrofitted steamer trunk that opens (literally) right outside the Nashville hotel’s Mason Bar area for happy hour daily. Beginning at 5 p.m. (with the toll of a bell) until 7 p.m., thirsty patrons can drink up local, pre-batched libations plus domestically-produced wine, to be poured-mixed, and served on demand.

The bar’s bespoke beverages are stored in antique apothecary-style bottles, and unique offerings include two cocktails crafted especially for the city of Nashville. The Tennessee Revival cocktail is crafted with Angel’s Envy Bourbon, Firepot Soul Revival, and orange bitters. The “Nashville Hot” cocktail features house-infused smoked jalapeño Hangar One Vodka, olive juice, pepperoncini juice, and an olive oil mister — for a spicy take on the traditional martini.

The Bellhop Bar promotion at Loews Vanderbilt is available now through mid-January 2019, when it packs up for the final time.
