One of Nashville’s most popular pizzerias starts firing pizzas on the west side today, as DeSano Pizzeria opens a new location at massive mixed-use development One Bellevue Place. DeSano’s menu features a selection of red-sauced (made exclusively with San Marzano tomatoes) and white pizzas, plus meatballs, calzones, salads, and desserts including a Nutella dessert pizza.
The newest location of DeSano is approximately 4,700-square-foot space, DeSano is known for it’s 90-second wood-fired pizzas, made by following the strict guidelines of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN), preserving the centuries-old art of making authentic Neapolitan pizza. The restaurant includes patio seating, bringing it to an estimated 100 to 120 seats in all.
Since opening the Midtown location in September 2012, owner Scott DeSano has expanded the Naples-inspired concept to Texas, North Carolina, and California, plus airport locations in Ft. Lauderdale and Charleston.
The Bellevue DeSano is open Monday through Sunday, 11:00 am “until the dough runs out.”
Update 10/28/18: Despite posting to social media and confirming by phone that they were opening Friday, they have since decided they are not yet ready to open for customers, referring to their one day open as a “soft” opening and saying they’re continuing to train staff.
