Another Swanky Steakhouse Thinks Nashville Sounds Like a Good Idea

STK has sights set on the large former Prima spot

According to the Nashville Business Journal, New York-based The One Group is bringing international steakhouse chain STK to Music City — specifically, to the Terrazzo condo building at 700 12th Ave S.

The showy global restaurant claims to be “not your daddy’s steakhouse” — other locations lean lounge-heavy, atmosphere-wise, attracting celebrities and professional athletes with less masculine design but expected meat-centric food offerings.

While online menus vary by location, the Atlanta STK shows starters like lobster ravioli and tuna tartare. Raw bar options and salads starring beets and figs are other beginning options. Non-steak selections include rack of lamb and a glazed beef short rib, plus seafood platters in three sizes. Beefy choices include small wagyu flat irons and filets, dry-aged Delmonico and Kansas City cuts, or massive dry-aged porterhouse. There are designated menus for ladies night and for brunch, too, in some cities.

The Gulch space that formerly housed Prima, which closed earlier in the year, is a massive one on the first floor of the building. NBJ reports finding a Metro building permit application (but has not yet been granted), online job listings, and that a representative of the project’s contractor Dowdle Construction Group confirmed STK’s plans for Nashville. STK has more than 20 locations worldwide.

The Gulch is already home to M Street’s Kayne Prime and 404 Kitchen serves solid steaks too, plus Oak Steakhouse and newly opened import Bourbon Steak are both less than a mile away.
