Shooting Reported Sunday Morning Outside Prince’s Hot Chicken

According to WKRN, a shooting took place outside Prince’s Hot Chicken in the early hours of Sunday morning, leaving a 16-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Metro police arrived at TriStar Skyline Medical Center just before 2 a.m. Sunday, where the victim had been transported in a friend’s vehicle and remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition. Police say the teenager was caught in the crossfire while hanging out with friends in the parking lot during a band trip, then individuals in a stolen Honda Civic and a Mercedes SUV fled the scene.

Shots had been reported earlier in the evening at Prince’s Hot Chicken near Dickerson Pike, but officers had been unable to find a patient. Officers located a crime scene, Youth Services Detectives responded, and the scene is being processed for evidence. Police are following leads to identify the shooters.
