Nashville Is Getting Two Locations of This Fast-Casual Mediterranean Chain

Customizable Mediterranean meals, quick, are Cava’s claim to fame

Cava, the Washington DC-based fast casual Mediterranean chain that grew exponentially after acquiring competitor Zoe’s Kitchen earlier this year, announced they’re opening two Cava locations in Nashville. The first, slated for a late 2019 opening, will be located in The Mall at Green Hills. The second location will open in 2010 at Fifth + Broadway.

Co-founded by Ted Xenohristos, Ike Grigoropoulos, and Executive Chef Dimitri Moshovitis, three first-generation Greek Americans and friends since childhood, the trio wanted to bring the flavors from their upbringing to a wider audience in a modern, accessible format.

Cava offers a customizable menu that features items like “crazy feta”, spicy lamb meatballs, and cauliflower quinoa tabbouleh. Seasonally rotating offerings include juices, soups, and roasted vegetables. Beginning as a full service restaurant in Maryland in 2006, the brand morphed to what they call “chef-casual” and now has over 70 locations, plus a line of dips and spreads sold in more than 200 Whole Foods stores.
