Reports this morning from WSMV revealed that a car crash and fire in the wee hours of the morning have forced Nashville hot chicken originator Prince’s to close their doors ‘indefinitely.’
A vehicle crashed into a soon-to-open convenience store in the Ewing Drive strip mall at around 4:30 a.m., which authorities say sparked the fire.
Semone Jeffries, whose mother André Prince Jeffries has owned and operated Prince’s for decades, told the Nashville Scene an employee was in the building at the time, and heard a commotion. Jeffries said the building sustained damage to the roof, ceiling, tiling, and more, some of which was caused by the fire department’s efforts to stop the fire.
No word yet on how long Prince’s Ewing Drive location will be closed, but in the meantime, head south to their outpost at 5814 Nolensville Pike. The post will update as further details become available.
