Crowds flock to Nashville to celebrate the new year en masse, but some folks prefer a little less Broadway insanity and a little more personal space. If a table for four tucked privately behind a wall watching culinary wizardry take place in a kitchen is more enticing — there’s a chef’s table experience unlike nothing else in Nashville, and only eight people can experience it on New Year’s Eve.
On a “normal” night The Rabbit Hole is Henley’s single chef’s table, where groups of four find themselves in the inner sanctum of the restaurant’s kitchen, eating whatever whimsical creations executive chef Daniel Gorman whips up for the evening. The multi-course tasting experience regularly runs $135 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) plus drink pairings including cocktails, wines, sherries, and post-dinner drinks for an additional $85. No two menus are ever the same, and each celebrates Tennessee’s bounty, crafted with modern techniques.
On New Year’s Eve, Gorman and the Henley team are throwing out all of the over-the-top stops — and reservations are now available online for only two seatings from at 6 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Johnny Walker Blue will be flowing like water, and White Alba truffles raining like the middle of a Tennessee spring, plus there will be table-side magic. Both seatings will feature the same 14-course tasting menu with beverage pairings, priced at $500 per person.
If a once-in-a-lifetime splurge on the Rabbit Hole experience is just not in the budget, limited reservations are still available for the 6-course prix fixe menu in Henley’s dining room (reservations available here).
