Another Nashville staple is abruptly closing its doors, as Provence Breads & Cafe will cease operations at the end of business today.
Located at 1705 21st Avenue S. in Hillsboro Village, an employee at Provence confirmed to Eater Nashville over the phone that today is indeed its last day, with the business closing at 7 p.m tonight. A reason for the shutter is not currently known, but the employee says that it came as a shock to everyone.
Opened in 1996 by Terry Carr-Hall, the bakery has long been a major source for artisan breads, both for walk-in retail sales and for a laundry list of restaurants around Nashville over the past twenty-plus years.
Provence additional satellite locations will also shutter, as they are supplied daily by the main Hillsboro Village location.
