Some of the best doughnuts and fried chicken in the country are now in need of a new landing spot in Nashville, as Philly sensation Federal Donuts has nixed plans for its previously announced East Nashville location.
When word first broke over a year and a half ago, acclaimed Philadelphia chef Michael Solomonov’s instant hit was slated for the overhauled Fluffo Mattress property, taking over the space previously home to Hot Yoga of East Nashville. But in the intervening months things had gone quiet, with no updates and no progress on construction. Now a representative for Federal Donuts confirms with Eater Nashville that they are indeed back on the market, stating “that due to construction issues, the timeline was pushed back so Federal Donuts cannot open in the intended Nashville location, but still has plans to expand.”
Since the original announcement, the restaurant has opened a Miami outpost, its seventh location and first outside of Philadelphia.
So be sure to check back for future updates, and send any intel to the tipline.
