MIDTOWN – Less than two months after Kimpton Aertson Hotel restaurant Henley parted ways with opening executive chef RJ Cooper, a replacement has now been officially named, as opening chef de cuisine Daniel Gorman has stepped into the roll. Gorman, who had essentially already been at the helm of Henley since the shakeup back in January, was previously the chef de cuisine at Daniel Lindley’s 5th & Taylor in Germantown. Prior to that, he worked as sous chef under Patrick O’Connell at the acclaimed Inn at Little Washington in Washington, Virginia. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN - A very familiar face joined the Strategic Hospitality team late last year, as local veteran chef Will Uhlhorn is now running the kitchen at Pinewood Social. Uhlhorn has been executive chef at a number of well-known Nashville restaurants over the years, including 360 Bistro, Miel, Table 3, and the shuttered F. Scott’s Restaurant and Jazz Bar. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN - Joel Harrington was recently named as the new chef de cuisine at modern steakhouse Deacon’s New South. Prior to the move, Harrington served as the executive chef at Lido Bottle Works in Newport Beach, Calif. Before that he worked in Dallas at both Apheleia Restaurant Group and Brown Bag Concepts, as well as in New York at Red Rooster Harlem. [EaterWire]

SYLVAN HEIGHTS – West side wine bar and restaurant Salt & Vine announced the promotion of opening sous chef Rahaf Amer to the executive chef position. Amer has moved quickly up the ranks, first starting out as a line cook in Washington, D.C. in 2015. [EaterWire]
