Popular Brooklyn pizzeria Emmy Squared’s Detroit-style pie has officially landed in Nashville, as the casual eatery opened this past weekend in The Gulch.

Taking over the former 404 Kitchen location at 404 12th Ave. S., owners Matt and Emily Hyland’s first restaurant outside of New York City offers a deeper-dish square pan pizza with the sauce applied on top of the cheese. An official menu has not yet been posted, but a delivery menu (subject to change as always) is now live online, showing a variety of small plates, sandwiches, and pizzas at varying price points. Outside of the pies, with several, like the ‘Levitan’ and the ‘Greenstoner,’ named after restaurant investors, of particular interest is the ‘Le Big Matt’ burger, featuring two Bear Creek beef patties, cheese, pickles, and sauce on a pretzel bun. At the New York original it rings in at $25, but here they appear to be starting it off at $19.

The 60-seat restaurant offers a full bar, with beer and wine currently available and cocktails making their debut in the coming weeks.

It will be dinner service only at first, with lunch hours coming in the near future. Initial hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 5 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, with the restaurant closed on Monday.
