After a coffee drought over the past few years, the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood will soon be home to not one but two coffee shops, as Americano Coffee Lounge is gearing up to open this summer.
The new venture, located in the Houston Station complex at 434 Houston St., will set up shop virtually across the street from Falcon Coffee, a much anticipated new coffeehouse and community hub at 509 Houston St. that’s expected to open any day now.
Details are few on the coffee lounge, but according to its website, owners Cody and Delana Pellerin will focus on its namesake beverage, which is an espresso diluted with hot water. Americano will also offer other caffeinated drinks, along with a light food menu in a ground-floor space that has been given a “1940’s twist.” It also promises to be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night.
