East Nashville Neighborhood Bar Walden Opens This Thursday

Southern Grist Brewing’s new taproom and Nashville Jam Cafe’s new location are also in full swing

EAST NASHVILLE - Casual neighborhood bar Walden will have its official public debut this Thursday, March 8. Owners Robyn Donnelly and Katie MacLachlan have taken over the former Hop Stop space at 2909B Gallatin Pike and given it a major overhaul, with the 2,000- square-foot bar featuring a variety of seating, including banquettes, ‘swing benches,’ and a pet-friendly patio with lounge seating. The 36 taps will offer a rotating selection of beer, wine, and cocktails on draft, with a menu of shared plates. Look for late night and brunch menus in the near future. Hours will be 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Thursday, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, and noon to 1 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. [Nashville Guru/EaterWire]

THE NATIONS - East Nashville’s Southern Grist Brewing Co. opened up its new Nations taproom on Feb. 13. Located at 5012 Centennial Blvd. in the Stocking 51 development, the new watering hole features 12 taps with house brews, along with one tap reserved for guest breweries. It also includes an outdoor patio, as well as a food menu from barbecue and Nashville hot chicken food truck Fire N Smoke. Hours are 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, 12 to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 12 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the taproom closed on Mondays. [EaterWire]

BERRY HILL - Old Hickory breakfast favorite Nashville Jam Cafe has moved into town, opening in the former Loving Pie Company location at 2806 Columbine Place on Feb. 8. Biscuits, omelettes, waffles, and more make up the breakfast menu, with lunch consisting of a variety of sandwiches, tacos, and meat and three options.
