Falcon Coffee Bar Gives Wedgewood-Houston a Go-To Coffee Shop

Cubanos, a vegetable-heavy menu, and good vibes await

Eater Nashville

The first and certainly the most anticipated of several coffee shops set to open in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood this year is now serving, as Falcon Coffee Bar opened its doors earlier today.

Located at 509 Houston St., the new venture from longtime bar veterans Alexis Soler and Angela Laino is the duo’s first foray into full-on coffee shop territory. A beverage menu is not yet available online, but expect a variety of options, including a quality Cubano, a favorite of both Soler’s and Laino’s from their time spent in Miami. Local roaster Osa Coffee will be featured prominently, along with offerings from other regularly rotating roasters.

But a preview of the kitchen menu has been shared (see below), with a plant-based roster of empanadas and things-on-toast for breakfast, and a small selection of salads, sandwiches, and sides available starting at 11 a.m.

The space itself is simple and light, featuring table and bar seating, as well as plenty of live greenery. And for those that are in a hurry, there is a walk-up window to get that caffeine fix on the go.

Soler tells Eater Nashville that planned hours going forward are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 .m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

And be on the lookout for more details on Flamingo Cocktail Lounge, the duo’s Miami-inspired cocktail bar located directly behind Falcon Coffee and now slated to open sometime in May.
