GERMANTOWN - Virginia-based restaurant and bar Sedona Taphouse opened its doors earlier today. Located at 1120 3rd Ave. North in the ground floor of the Broadstone Germantown apartment complex, the casual mini-chain, which currently has nine locations and another four on the way, serves up a broad menu of typical American fare, with the main attraction being its deep tap and by-the-bottle beer list. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. [EaterWire]
DOWNTOWN - Another boutique hotel has entered the Nashville market, as Bobby Hotel welcomed its first guests on April 20. And with it comes four more food and beverage outlets. All-day restaurant Tavern at Bobby and its casual cafe counterpart are now serving, with Bobby’s Garage Bar and the rooftop lounge, which includes a repurposed 1956 Scenicruiser bus, slated to open sometime in early May. DOWNTOWN - Another country music star-branded tourist trap is set to descend on downtown Nashville this week, as Blake Shelton’s Ole Red will open to the public tomorrow. The 26,000-square-foot, five-story behemoth, owned and operated by Ryman Hospitality, is just the latest in a flood of recent and forthcoming bar openings from the likes of Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, and John Rich. A third outpost of Ole Red (with the first in Shelton’s hometown of Tishomingo, Okla.) is slated to open in Gatlinburg, Tenn. in 2019. [The Tennessean]
WEDGEWOOD-HOUSTON - Neighborhood micro-grocery Sassafras Market & Deli opened earlier this month. Situated at 610 Merritt Ave. across from Corsair Distillery, it offers a variety of local and organic items, along with made-to-order sandwiches, breakfast items, pastries from Sweet 16th Bakery, and craft brews.
