Surprise: The second outpost of Nashville-favorite Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria opened this morning at 10:30 a.m. Owners Clinton Gray, Derrick Moore, and Emanuel Reed took over a former Applebee’s located at 5270 Hickory Hollow Pkwy. to bring pizza to the south side of Nashville. In a previous interview, Gray told The Tennessean that they chose this area for expansion because the felt, “... in regards to food, local food specifically, Antioch has been underprivileged and underserved.”
The new 4,324-square-foot restaurant also includes the new concept from the trio called The Rollout, which sells Slim & Husky’s clothing, cinnamon rolls, carry-out pizza, wine and craft beers.
Slim & Husky’s spread the news on Instagram with a #HappyJuneteenth greeting. Juneteenth is an annual celebration on June 19 that marks the date in 1865 when word reached Texas that slavery had been abolished and those enslaved were free.
