Tour the Azure Interiors of Middle Eastern Restaurant Lyra

First look

Local hospitality veterans Hrant Arakelian and Elizabeth Endicott opened Middle Eastern restaurant Lyra last week. Sitting at 935 W. Eastland Ave., previously home to Holland House Bar & Refuge, Lyra “marries flavors rich in history with elevated plating and an effortlessly modern feel.”

The dinner menu includes various hummus dishes, lamb kefta, date-glazed lamb ribs, fried beef kibbeh, and more.

Arakelian previously worked as executive chef at Holland House. Prior to taking the helm there, he was executive chef at Rumours East for several years, and has also spent time in the kitchens at Butchertown Hall and Etch. Endicott has been on the beverage side of the restaurant business, having been a fixture behind the bar at shuttered Green Hills restaurant F. Scott’s for many years, as well as running the bar program at Lockeland Table.

Lyra is open Monday through Saturday, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tour the restaurant with photographer Sam Angel here.
