East Nashville’s Tropical Cocktail Lounge Announces Opening Date

Plus a poke progress report

Pearl Diver/Facebook

East Nashville’s long-awaited island lounge will open this weekend

Pearl Diver, East Nashville’s highly anticipated tropical lounge from industry insiders, will open July 29. Opening day begins with Sunday brunch followed by what owners are calling a “local luau” (no details on said luau yet, or on an official menu from Treehouse Executive Chef Jason Zygmont.) The brainchild of Treehouse owners Corey Ladd and Matt Spicher, No.308 owner Ben Clemons, and longtime 308 barman Jamie White, Pearl Diver opened softly over the weekend and has been rumored to be tentatively open since, which also appears accurate via social media tags. The space looks stunning in all the photos shared so far online.

East Nashville’s poke restaurant delays opening

Kawai Poke had initially announced an opening date of July 27, but according to the owner, it will actually be a little later. The owner cites “last minute permitting issues” as the reason for the delay.

Random poke shop appears on 8th Ave S

A sign proclaiming Zushi Poke open popped up on 8th Ave S this week, in the former Pizza Fire location. A couple of industry insiders sent photos and visited to check out the menu, which shows traditional build-your-own bowls choosing from salmon, tuna, shrimp, tofu and more.

Brentwood’s Thai Satay will also be a poke place

An Eater tipster says that the former Thai restaurant will be a poke shop called The Poki. The Poki’s Facebook page, created in late June, says the website is under construction and that Brentwood’s first poke restaurant will open soon.
