Beer Flowing Soon at New Wedgewood-Houston Taproom

Jackalope Brewing Company adds a second location

There’s certainly no shortage of places to drink in Music City, but now there’s one more to consider, as Jackalope Brewing Company is opening its second location this weekend. Doors open to the public on Saturday, August 25 at 429B Houston Street in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood. The folks at Jackalope are dubbing the new space ‘the ranch,’ which houses a taproom, production brewery, plus room for private events.

Jackalope Founder/CEO Bailey Spaulding first opened Jackalope in the 8th Avenue location in 2011, and nowadays they’re brewing seven times as much beer as they did that first year. The team says they plan to keep the original location (referred to as ‘the den’) to create small-batch specialty beers that’ll be sold only at the taprooms. Co-Owner and COO Steve Wright says with the expansion comes an eventual goal of statewide distribution.

A grand opening for the Ranch taproom is Saturday, August 25 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will feature free tours of the new facility, as well as multiple beers brewed for the occasion.

The Ranch will be open Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Saturday hours will be from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
