Award-winning TailGate Brewery opened a new taproom in East Nashville over the weekend at 811 Gallatin Road. Led by TailGate’s founder and brewmaster Wesley Keegan, TailGate is the largest brewhouse in Tennessee. At the brewery’s third taproom, expect 30 different beers on draft at all times, like at each of their other Nashville tasting rooms, plus a familiar menu. That’s everything from wings to giant pretzels, build-your-own pastas and pizzas, and even a pizza made with a cauliflower-crust for all those aboard that keto diet train. Pre-ordained pizzas range from familiar meat-lovers or veggie pizzas, plus more fun ones like mac and cheese or lasagna pie.
TailGate’s newest space features the slightly irreverent artwork they’re known for —murals, tap handles, and even beer cans feature images brainstormed by Keegan & art director Drew Lord. This artwork often captures recognizable Nashville topics in a humorous light. Core staff members make cameos in the art, too. One wouldn’t necessarily think of a brewery as being kid-friendly, but TailGate is open to visitors of all ages and offers plenty of family-oriented events across the three locations, beyond providing kid-friendly pizza as an option.
The brewery, founded in was founded in 2007 in San Diego, CA and relocated in 2014 to make Nashville its international headquarters. Since then, the brewery has grown from a 3 barrel system to a 50 barrel system, allowing for the three core can varieties to be joined by small batch, limited release craft beer. The new Nashville location is the third active brewery & taproom for the company, and also houses their experimental wild fermentation brewing system.
TailGate Brewery East Nashville is open Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. – 11 p.m.
