Here’s a First Look Inside Michael Mina’s New Sky-High Steakhouse

With a bourbon-inspired color palette and downtown views

Beginning a busy week of openings with swagger, Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak Nashville debuts tonight in the newly opened JW Marriott. And there will be steak, seafood, and sweeping downtown views from the 34th floor.

Located at 201 8th Avenue South, the new steakhouse seats 280 guests across the main dining space, indoor lounge, and outdoor terrace overlooking downtown.

Look for, of course, extensive steak selections, seafood, and other Mina classics (think Maine lobster pot pie) paired with a wine list of more than 500 options and classic American cocktails—some served from a roaming cocktail cart, table-side.

The restaurant’s design is a contemporary interpretation of a classic steakhouse. Expect large-scale circular chandeliers, a bourbon-inspired color palette accented with striking shades of blue, and brass details. Luxury hospitality specialists Tihany Design created the look especially for the Nashville location, drawing influence from the building’s sleek ellipse shape.

Unfortunately, the outdoor bar area was not complete at the time of Eater’s first look.

Bourbon Steak Nashville’s hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Bourbon Sky Lounge will be open 4 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
