Two new restaurants opened in traffic-heavy Green Hills today: Char, a steakhouse import from Jackson, Mississippi, and Nashville’s newest location of breakfast-focused First Watch.
Char, located at 3988 Hillsboro Pike in the Vertis Green Hills development, serves lunch and dinner daily and host nightly entertainment in the piano bar, plus a New Orleans-style jazz trio during Sunday brunch. Chef Evan Campbell serves a modern Southern menu with shrimp and grits, sushi-grade tuna, and, of course, steaks. Char’s hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.

On the breakfast front, the eighth Nashville-area location of First Watch, a chain zoning in exclusively on breakfast/lunch dishes, opened in the former Kohana space at 2002 Richard Jones Road. First Watch’s menu targets breakfast-lovers — with avocado toast, smoked salmon eggs Benedict, breakfast tacos, granola, and lemon ricotta pancakes among the highlights. The Green Hills location is the first Tennessee location with a bar, serving mimosas, bloody marys, and other seasonal cocktails. First Watch serves its entire menu seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
