Pelican & Pig, the highly anticipated East Nashville restaurant from Slow Hand Coffee + Bakeshop owners Nick and Audra Guidry, will open at last on Thursday, January 24.
Wood-fired cooking via a raised brick grill is the focus at the culinary power couple’s first full-service restaurant — where Nick leads the kitchen and Audra continues as executive pastry chef and runs front of house.
The wood-fired grill is used for everything from smoking meats over embers, to ash-roasting vegetables, to hearth-baking bread. Shareable plates lean heavily on local, seasonal vegetables. The beverage program consists of a specialized cocktail, beer, and wine selection.
Pelican & Pig connects to the Guidry’s new location of beloved Slow Hand Coffee + Bakeshop which opened in the fall (known for Audra’s plethora of pretty pastries) and is also tucked beside new island lounge Pearl Diver at 1010 Gallatin Avenue.
Once open, Pelican & Pig will host cocktail hour Tuesday through Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m., with dinner service from 5 until 10 p.m. Pelican & Pig will be closed Mondays.
