Take a First Look Inside East Nashville’s Cozy New Neighborhood Restaurant

Pelican & Pig opens Thursday, January 24

A converted mid-century auto upholstery shop in East Nashville welcomes its third new business in a year this week, as highly anticipated wood-fired restaurant Pelican & Pig opens this Thursday, January 24.

Owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo Nick and Audra Guidry of neighboring popular coffee and pastry purveyor which relocated in the fall, Slow Hand Coffee + Bakeshop, Pelican & Pig is the couple’s first full-service restaurant.

Located at 1010 Gallatin Avenue, upon entering the welcoming, cozy space, find a view of the open kitchen and wood-burning hearth, where Nick churns out seasonal fare alongside Audra’s in-demand desserts.

The menu leads off with snacks like sugar and salt-cured ribs, boudin steamed buns, and Nashville hot deviled eggs. Next up are shareables like grilled mushrooms, chicory, a Brussels Caesar, and cauliflower al pastor. Entrees include steak frites, rabbit and dumplings, and a pork chop with winter root & squash & ‘mole’. Cocktail offerings feature a large number of whiskey and gin-based drinks, plus a hand selected craft beer and wine menu.

Once open, Pelican & Pig will host happy hour Tuesday-Sunday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and dinners Tuesday-Sunday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.
