Austin-based bar Dogwood is on schedule to open its Nashville outpost in Midtown next week, according to social media posts.
The bar and restaurant comes from also Austin-based Carmack Concepts, owned by former “Bachelor” star Brad Womack and his brother Chad Womack, along with Jason Carrier.
The Midtown property at 1907 Division Street that most recently housed Soulshine Pizza Factory now looks entirely different when driving by. A dual-level patio gives ample outdoor space, and inside hosts a small stage for live music.
As far as food goes, the Austin location’s menu shows pretty par-for-the-course bar fare — beginning with standard apps like mozzarella sticks, nachos, and sliders. The rest of the menu is more par-for-a-bar stuff — featuring sweet tea-marinated wings, burgers, tacos, and other sandwiches. Check back later to see how the Nashville location’s menu compares.
Former tenant Soulshine Pizza’s Midtown location closed in February. Owners said that attached Slider House would remain open.
Eater Nashville has reached out for Dogwood’s exact opening date.
