It appears that beloved Nashville chef Tom Bayless and Dauer Ellis are partnering to open a coal-roasted chicken restaurant in East Nashville, according to anonymous tipsters and an Instagram account that recently popped up for a place called BokBox.
The Instagram account shows an address of 604 Gallatin Avenue, Suite 203, in the building at the southwest corner of Eastland and Gallatin. Attempts to get further information as far as opening date and menu have gone unanswered thus far, so stay tuned for updates.
For years, 2017 Eater Award-winning Chef of the Year Bayless has worked in the kitchens of Nashville’s top tier restaurants. Bayless helped open The Catbird Seat, then Bastion. He most recently helmed the kitchen at Urban Cowboy Public House, tucked away behind a bed and breakfast in East Nashville’s Lockeland Springs neighborhood, where he utilized the restaurant and bar’s focus on live-fire cooking until the fire department down live-fire operations and UC pared down the menu.
