Knoxville-based doughnut destination Status Dough has sweet summer plans for East Nashville — more specifically, a space in a building at 921 Gallatin Avenue (near Pepperfire), according to the Nashville Scene.

Inspired by bakeries found throughout Europe, Status Dough makes all doughs, icings, glazes, and fillings from scratch, and the menu online shows a selection of buttermilk old fashioned, cake, and yeast doughnuts for sale. Seasonal fruit fritters, custard-filled long John’s, and Boston creme pies are also specialties at the popular Knoxville doughnut shop.

Status Dough currently operates two locations in Knoxville. Beyond doughnuts, Knoxville locations offer a full espresso bar plus hot chocolate, juice, and tea. Both Knoxville stores are open seven days a week.

According to the Scene, real estate investor and developer Adam Leibowitz owns the 5,200-square-foot building where Status Dough hopes to open this summer.
