The owners of food truck 615Chutney are taking over the former Rumours East space in East Nashville’s Five Points this week, according to the Nashville Scene.

Owner and operator Niroop Prabhakar told the Scene that the food truck will continue rolling even after the new sit-down space starts serving South Indian street food. Prabhakar and co-owner Manan Jobalia are describing the new spot at 1112 Woodland Street a “truckstaurant” — stressing the continuation of the food truck side, but that the new spot will be a full-service sit-down restaurant. They’re overhauling the building and changing the exterior paint job, and said they plan to use the space’s large backyard as a private event space.

Prabhakar, a South India native who moved to Nashville in 2010, opened 615Chutney as a food truck around 4 months ago, with a concentration on vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free South Indian street food. He told the Scene the East Nashville spot will add some meat dishes to the menu, which is still under development. 615Chutney will begin by serving only dinner, and have plans to expand to add lunch at some point.

Eater has reached out to owners to find out an exact opening date, which the Scene reported to be sometime in the next week.
