A representative of Strategic Hospitality confirms the rumors that Le Sel has indeed closed in Midtown. The final day of service was Sunday, May 19.
Strategic Hospitality’s representative said that all staff are being prioritized in the light of the closure — and are given options to work in one of the restaurant group’s other restaurants should they so choose. In the statement, they add they’re grateful for those who frequented the brasserie over the years, but that it’s time to move on to the next chapter.
The Goldberg brothers first opened elegantly whimsical Le Sel in late 2015 — a stunning space with a memorable white marble bar and hot pink neon signage. Serving “new French” dishes alongside more traditional French fare, Le Sel was also a wildly popular brunch destination in its heyday.
No word yet on what’s next for the prime Midtown real estate. What would you like to see added to Midtown’s dining landscape?
