Waldo’s Chicken & Beer is Germantown’s newest restaurant — the fowl-centric fast casual spot officially opens on Monday, May 13.
The newest concept from Fresh Hospitality takes over the former Little Donkey space, located at 1120 4th Ave North, Suite 103, in Germantown.
Waldo’s menu is very straightforward: choose from chicken on the bone, on a bun, in a bowl, or in a basket. Pickle-brined Southern fried and fire-roasted chicken plus scratch sides provide a welcome affordable and familiar lunch and dinner option to the popular dining neighborhood.
Begin with cheddar biscuits, pimento cheese, or fried pickles, then diners choose their own chicken adventure — be it in sandwich, salad, tender, or wing form. A rainbow of ten sauces are available for chicken dunking. Scratch sides range from macaroni and cheese to pinto beans and cucumber salad.
Waldo’s whole menu is made from scratch daily, and hopes to lend itself to both those grabbing lunch on the go or those looking to settle in and watch the game.
A full bar with an extensive local and regional craft beer selection, limited wine options, and cocktails priced starting at $8 are available to accompany the array of fried fowl dishes.
A large covered patio has seating for 50 at the popular Germantown Market development (FH’s Vui’s Kitchen, NoBaked, I Love Juice Bar, and Cosmic Creamery are all neighbors).
Waldo opens for limited hours beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, but expands to full hours of operation on Monday, May 13. Once open, Waldo’s Chicken & Beer will be open Sunday-Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
