Gourmet Mexican food truck El Nopalito plopped down some permanent roots mid-May in South Nashville, specifically, at 329 Peachtree Street.
The welcoming new expansion of the food truck sets up shop in a vibrant green house, with a massive yard speckled with picnic tables and festive lights.
El Nopalito’s menu opens with 3 dipping options for chips: salsa, guacamole, or the restaurant’s namesake nopalitos — made with diced nopales (the naturally flat stems, called pads, of the prickly pear cactus).
Tacos are available a la carte at El Nopalito, priced higher than those found nearby on Nolensville Road, ranging from $2.99 to $3.50.
Also of note at El Nopalito, they’re serving huaraches — made with nopal and topped with melted cheese, mushrooms, poblanos, and red onions. These come served with sides like elote, charro beans, or rice.
Other menu offerings include burritos, quesadillas, a trio of burgers, and wings.
El Nopalito is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. It’s closed on Sunday.
