A restaurant focused solely on hot chicken downtown — well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. The folks from The Stillery opened up Music City Chicken Co. a few weeks back on 2nd Avenue — with a hot chicken- and southern food-focused menu hoping to give tourists exactly what they want when they visit Nashville.
Peddling par for the course Nashville dishes like fried pickle spears, pork rinds, fried chicken biscuits, and hot chicken to tourists downtown, Music City Chicken Co. also adds a couple of Instagram-bait options. Case in point: a hot chicken mac and cheese waffle cone.
Also serving beer, wine, and cocktails, the new restaurant is located at 109 Second Ave. N. (formerly Japanese restaurant Ichiban, that closed in 2017). It’s open Sunday-Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Yes, Yazoo Brewing Has Departed The Gulch
According to the Nashville Scene, Yazoo Brewing fled Division Street on Sunday, June 23, finally getting ready to make that big move to Madison (900 River Bluff Drive, specifically). If you noticed, yes, that’s the same weekend longtime dining destination Flyte also served its final meal in the Gulch. The brewery called the Gulch home since 2010 — when it moved over from Marathon Village.
Was it the pedal taverns?
