The closure of International Market & Restaurant has been imminent for a while now — and now there’s a final date. July 31 is the last day for the beloved International Market & Restaurant — and in a surprise twist, sister restaurant Blvd is closing that day as well.
The new plan for the Blvd space across Belmont? The rebirth of International Market and Restaurant that will continue to carry on Patti Myint’s legacy. The Myint family announced today that they are reviving the beloved International Market & Restaurant in a new location, carrying on the neighborhood restaurant’s long-tradition of Thai dishes and specialty groceries in a family-friendly atmosphere.
Anna and Arnold Myint, children of long-time Nashville restaurateurs Patti and Win Myint, have decided to close their sister restaurant blvd, 2013 Belmont Blvd., the same day International Market & Restaurant will close its doors, and spend the next several months revamping that location to open the new International Market location.
The new International Market concept will carry over a number of cherished offerings from the original location, including a steam table, lunch specials, and a bevy of hard-to-find groceries and gifts. Those features will be complemented by an enhanced menu inspired by the Myint siblings recent Thailand trip to honor their mother, plus more modern décor, and a full bar.
Patti Myint’s International Market & Restaurant (2010 Belmont Blvd) has been a beloved part of the Nashville food scene since it opened in 1975. Located next to Belmont University, the main event was Myint’s personal take on a variety of Asian dishes, but it also offers retail groceries, too.
The new iteration is expected to open in the coming months – meanwhile check out the progress on Instagram or at www.internationalmarketnashville.com.
