New York-based Liquor Lab has arrived on Second Avenue — bringing an interactive cocktail experience, (soon-to-open) speakeasy, cocktail-centric retail, and event space to downtown Nashville.
Created by Owen Meyer — a West Point graduate who saw a need for an integrated social-mixology experience and VP Jeff Helion, who worked with several liquor brands, specializing in large-scale events and national tours, Liquor Lab’s mission is to school communities on everything cocktail-related.
The first location opened in NY a year and a half ago, providing interactive beer, spirits, and cocktail classes to the public. Attendees learn about recipe history and preparation while being led by a professional step-by-step on how to shake, stir, and sip their own cocktails.
To attend a cocktail class or event, tickets are online from $50-$99. Upcoming classes include ones themed around whiskey, classic cocktails, bourbon and bbq, and champagne and fried chicken. Liquor Lab is partnering with local favorites like Mas Tacos and Peg Leg Porker for food pairings at select classes. Private classes are available for company team building, and of course, bachelorettes parties.
The exclusive ticketed speakeasy (opening in the fall) here will feature theme nights with big-name music acts and drinks and decor to match. Guests gain to the speakeasy after attending classes or events. The Nashville Liquor Lab’s speakeasy is the first bar in the world to have a 360-degree immersive video experience, created by Sony Pictures Entertainment, creating visual and audio experiences to match the night’s theme.
Liquor Lab Nashville is now open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
