A caterer and food truck owner is opening his own daiquiri bar and restaurant on North Nashville’s Buchanan Street, reports the Nashville Business Journal. Willie B’s Daiquiri Bar and Kitchen, owned by Christopher Jones, will open at 918 Buchanan Street by the end of this year.
Jones ran Willie B’s as a food truck for four years in New Orleans, Memphis, and in Nashville. NBJ reports the first permanent location spans 3,700-square-feet and will seat 220 diners. Cajun dishes, seafood, and other American will be on offer alongside, obviously, daiquiris and a full bar.
A Pub Is Planned For This Former Church on Gallatin
Meanwhile, on the East side, a new pub called Eastwood Assembly is taking over an old church just north of Five Points, according to the Nashville Scene. Sliding into the space at 714 Gallatin, Eastwood Assembly is owned by two Nashville attorneys — Jim Higgins and Rick Piliponi, who previously opened Noble’s Kitchen and Beer Hall in East Nashville. Eater Nashville has reached out to learn more about the menu and plans for the church-turned-pub, and will provide updates as they become available. It seems there are some delays due to some structural issues, so no word yet on anticipated opening timeline just yet.
