Midtown Nashville is getting a new hot pot and barbecue restaurant, Shabu Shabu, according to the Nashville Scene and new business permits. The upcoming restaurant is slated for the one-story brick building that formerly housed Golden Coast — an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet at 1722 West End Avenue.
Golden Coast appears to have closed in late 2019, after over two decades in business as one of the city’s only all-you-can-eat buffets.
Shabu-shabu, which literally translates to “swish-swish,” begins with raw meat, seafood, and vegetables, then dipped into boiling broth before being further dipped into ponzo or goma (sesame) sauce.
Eater Nashville has reached out for more information on Shabu Shabu, so stay tuned for updates.
