Union Common, Midtown’s happy hour and steak destination, has closed for renovations after selling to new owners — as of today, January 30, 2020. A tip from an anonymous source and Instagram post confirms the sale and closure.

The social media post (shown below) reads “We appreciate the many patrons who have come into our restaurant over the years. Union Common has been sold to new ownership as of January 30, 2020 - and will be closed for renovations at that time. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes anyone, and hope you return after it’s reopening to see where it’s new owners take it. Thank you so much, and have a wonderful day.”

Union Common first opened in August of 2014, a “social concept steakhouse” from Louisville-based restaurant group DC Management. The restaurant also had a focus on happy with plenty of shared plates, a solid wine program, and lots of whiskey.

No word yet on who the new owners are or how they plan to change the Midtown restaurant. Stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, what do you think the neighborhood is missing?
