Julia Jaksic’s new Belle Meade market and cafe Roze Pony opened over the weekend. The all-day cafe is Jaksic’s second restaurant in Nashville — she opened Cafe Roze in East Nashville in 2017. Before bringing Nashville one of its best (and cutest) breakfast destinations, the longtime New York chef Julia Jaksic previously served as executive chef of Employees Only Singapore and Jack’s Wife Freda.
Setting up shop in the Belle Meade Galleria complex at 5133 Harding Pike, Roze Pony serves breakfast/lunch/brunch from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. They also offer a fully stocked bar and cocktail menu, plus Nashville-based OSA coffee and High Garden tea.
For breakfast, you’ll find egg sandwiches and alongside beet-cured salmon on rye alongside “brekkie” bowl with kale quinoa salad, on the savory side. For those with a sweeter tooth in the mornings, look to Roze Pony’s souffle pancakes, banana shakes, or a frozen coconut bowl. It’s also a new outpost for some of Nashville’s best — Conny & Jonny doughnuts (until they sell out).
The daytime menu also touts a selection of toasts, salads, and sandwiches including a peppercorn steak sandwich with tomato jam and horseradish aioli. There’s also a new Jaksic burger in town with the Pony Burger — a smash burger that likely impresses like that at RP’s sister restaurant.
On the dinner menu, begin with crispy blue cheese olives or an oyster pan roast in paprika broth, then move on to salads or larger plates like Duroc pork chops, moules frites with curry butter, or a bone-in NY strip. Vegetarian options are also on the entree list — like a squash and chickpea tagine or mafaldini with pecorino.
For those who prefer takeout or want something on the run, Jaksic’s Belle Meade cafe houses a grab-and-go market, offering coffee, snacks, and full-on family dinners for picking up and enjoying at home.
Reservations are available on Tock at a limited capacity — with party sizes capped at six people. Roze Pony is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
