Otaku Ramen joins a new neighborhood soon for takeout and delivery ramen. Sliding into the new Sylvan Supply project at 4109 Charlotte Avenue in West Nashville, owner and chef Sarah Gavigan says to expect opening in early September.
Otaku Ramen West will serve up the same menus as the Gulch and East locations for takeout and delivery only. No dine-in options will be available, even post COVID-19 restrictions. This adds delivery as an option to a few new neighborhoods, including Green Hills, Belle Meade, Berry Hill, Oak Hill, Sylvan Park, Charlotte Ave, and the Nations. Pickup will be available at all three locations, and delivery will be serviced via Postmates. Otaku’s Boba will also expand to the same space later in the year.
The city’s first dedicated ramen shop, Otaku opened in 2016 and has the most extensive ramen menu in the city — with steaming bowls of shoyu, tonkotsu, and (brothless) mazeman all available for slurping. Owner Sarah Gavigan has become such an expert on the art of ramen-making that she released her own cookbook on the matter.
Fast casual health-focused Radish opened recently at Sylvan Supply, as did a West side outpost of popular alcohol purveyor Woodland Wine Merchant. Sylvan Supply is the adaptive rehabilitation of the 60-year-old Madison Mill, location on Charlotte Avenue. The project has 162,000-square-feet of office space, plus over 32,000-square-feet of curated dining, boutique fitness, and other retail spaces.
