Some argue that Valentine’s Day is the worst dining night of the year — from pricey prix fixe menus that include obligatory “aphrodisiac” foods to panic around booking reservations. But this year, since the February holiday takes place in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic, people are encouraged to order in and stay home. Whether romance is in the air or you’re looking for something different that weekend, Eater is here with picks for takeout Valentine’s Day specials, prix fixe meals, and meal kits from Nashville restaurants, as well as places to score sweets and other inspirational guides.
A few restaurants do have socially distanced, heated outdoor seating for brunch and/or dinner and are taking reservations: Daddy’s Dogs is offering a four-course dinner, served outdoors on paper plates complete with hot dogs, drinks, and milkshakes plus a gift bag and souvenir to take home. Reserve on OpenTable.
As of today, 5th and Taylor, Butcher and Bee, Emmy Squared, Henrietta Red, Lyra, South Side Kitchen and Pub, and Stoney River Steakhouse all still have patio tables available for either brunch or dinner on the 14th.
The clock is ticking — book those orders now, because many of these meals will sell out soon.
